In this concert, clarinetist Meghan Pund explores 100 years of jazz through the voice of this versatile instrument — from early swing and big band standards to bebop, ballads, and beyond. Join us for a journey through the past, celebrating the clarinet’s rich history and its enduring place in jazz today.

Wilder Stallions

Wilder Stallions offers a progressive take on the jazz group. Formed in 2014, the group blends a mix of jazz, funk, rock, and progressive music to take the listener on a journey. The band has released two albums- “Don’t Let Your Meatloaf” (2014) and “The Intergalactic Funk Monorail” (2019), and is currently working on its next venture “Landscapes”.
Hot Sauce Brass Band

Hot Sauce Brass Band is a second-line party band from Louisville Kentucky. While rooted in the traditional and contemporary repertoire of New Orleans, we distill our own spirit of original brass band music steeped in jazz, funk, the blues, pop and improvisation. HSBB has the traditional brass band instrumentation of Sousaphone, trombones, trumpet, saxophone and drums. The portability of the band allows us to flourish from the streets to the concert hall and everywhere in between. We are available for venue performances, street parties, private events of all kind, corporate events, festivals, parades, jazz funerals, weddings and wedding second lines, community events, studio work! , etc….. Upbeat, dynamic, and FUN music for all occasions!
Hermanos

Hermanos is a 6-piece Latin Jazz ensemble based in Louisville, KY. Formed in 2015, and voted the Best Latin Jazz Band in Kentucky for 2020, this band is a diverse group of instrumentalists from various musical and cultural backgrounds. With a repertoire as varied as its members, Hermanos pushes for a high level of fusion between American and Latin American music by blending great melodies with electrifying rhythms. The result is a unique, captivating, and eclectic sound. Nearly all of the band’s music is an original arrangement or composition. Hermanos has devoted themselves to contributing new ideas to the Latin Jazz lexicon, while preserving the great music of the Latin Jazz masters. Hermanos is led by saxophonist and Indianapolis, IN native, Rob Nickerson. The remaining band members hail from both Latin America and North America: Alberto Abril (Panama City, Panama), Guitar; Winton Reynolds (Palo Alto, California), keys; Yody Hernandez-Marti (Havana, Cuba), bass; Caleb Leiva (San Salvador, El Salvador), conga; and Johnny Castaneda (Los Angeles) on drums and timbales.
